These types of sessions have a special place in my heart. I love capturing creative, styled moments but my favorite photos usually end up being the ones that happened unexpectedly. Especially when kids are involved, I find it's important to let them express their energy and love in their own unique ways. This approach leads to photos that are truly yours.


I'm a lifestyle family photographer serving Hudson, Somerset, New Richmond, and River Falls, as well as Stillwater, Lake Elmo, and the broader St. Croix Valley area. My sessions are easy going, carefree and meant to capture moments that feel authentically you.

FAQ

What should we wear?

I recommend coordinating outfits with 2-3 colors. We don't want you to be too "matchy matchy" but we want you to play off of each other. Start with finding an outfit mom feels confident and comfortable in and build from there.

Where should we take the photos?

I have some beautiful locations I've found over the years that make for gorgeous family portraits. Another option is to choose a location that's meaningful to your family, like your family home or a park that you love. Your session could also center around an activity like an apple orchard, ice cream shop, or even the beach!

What happens if my kids don't cooperate?

This question comes up a lot, so you're not alone. It can take some kids a little bit to warm up to the idea of photography. My approach is slow and child focused. If we need to shift to a fun activity, we can do that. If we need to take a five minute snack break, we can do that too.

Do you shoot at golden hour?

I do, but it's not a requirement. During our session planning, we'll chat about the portrait styles you're more drawn to as well as taking your specific family needs and timing into account.

Do you travel outside of Hudson, WI?

Yes! I serve families throughout the St. Croix Valley including River Falls, Somerset & New Richmond, as well as Stillwater, Lake Elmo, Afton & Mahtomedi.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and I'm flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.

Can extended family come to our session?

For sure! I love multi-generational sessions. Keep me up to date on who will be joining us so I can plan our timing accordingly.
