Spring is such an exciting time of year. The sun feels warmer, the grass gets greener, the flowers start blooming, and portrait sessions are in full swing.

I love taking families to this WI park for family portraits because it never disappoints. Every season, a new beauty shines through and Spring is no different. The lush green grasses pop in a way that feels fresh and inviting, and the sun shines through the trees with a renewed vigor.

The Bowar family brought their three kids, and coordinated outfits with a mix of blues, greens and pastel dresses for the girls.

What a Spring Family Session at a WI Park Actually Looks Like

If you're a family that has never booked an outdoor lifestyle session, I want to paint the picture of what this looks like from start to finish.

We started the session on a sunny hill overlooking the park, which gave a beautiful backlit portrait with a bright tree heavy backdrop. This session was not taken at sunset, and we were still able to get gorgeous portraits out in the open sun. The kids got used to the camera, we started learning how this family flows, and what makes the kids laugh.

We then headed to a wooded area with tree cover and beautiful tall pines. These trees created such a gorgeous backdrop and helped create balance for some traditional, smiling family portraits that are truly frame worthy. The kids were incredible smilers, even their little baby boy was happy as can be.

We shifted to a more casual seated setting with lush green grass and sunlight streaming through the trees. This recipe of spring, pre-sunset portraits at this WI park turned out to be some of my favorite family photos I've ever taken.

Booking a Spring Family Session in Hudson, WI

Spring is when my calendar really starts to fill up, so I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later if you'd like to book a family session! The Spring season flies by and can quickly be filled with yard work, holidays, and finally enjoying the sun again.
