The Beginning of Forever...

I love hearing about all the different ways couples meet and develop their relationships. Love is incredible and comes into our lives in so many ways. For some, it smacks them directly between the eyes the instant they see one another and for others, it's a slow flicker that, one day, grows larger and larger until you finally realize - "hey, I think I might love this human!" August & Maria met in college and their friendship grew for many years before they realized a love interest was present. Those seem to be some of the sweetest relationships I've seen. And you know what they say, friendship is the foundation of a healthy marriage. :)

If you're lucky enough to know this couple, some words you would use to describe them are easy-going, fun and positive and their session was just that! We started at the beautiful RK Studio. Check it out if you haven't, it's a bright and airy space filled with charm and perfect for intimate sessions of any kind. The space allowed us to capture beautiful moments, champagne pops and cuddles while also keeping us out of the cold Minnesota weather (for a little while at least).

After the studio, as true Midwesterners, we all bundled up and headed to The Falls at Willow River State Park! It was a chilly day and, if you've been to The Falls, you know the hill to get there and back is nothing short of brutal! But, we made it with the help of August & Maria's adorable pup, Hugo. We got some pretty incredible shots of these lovebirds and their fur baby. Some of my favorite photos are when we ventured into the flow of the cold Falls, stepping across rocks (and trying oh-so carefully not to fall in..) and captured some truly cute candids.

What I love the most about each engagement session is learning about you and your story! I also love capturing those in-between moments where the two of you are just being yourselves. Those are usually what end up being my favorite shots.

Stay tuned - because we are heading to the shores of Alabama for this gorgeous couples wedding in May and I can't contain my excitement!

Hugs,
